Join us for the ultimate online mahjong team event! Gather your friends, sharpen your skills, and compete against top Japanese professionals. Whether you're a seasoned veteran of the game or a curious beginner, connect with players from all over the globe. Challenge your mahjong skills and claim victory with your team.

With 40 Japanese professionals confirmed to be attending, this event is a great opportunity for amateurs and aspiring professionals outside of Japan.

Event Description

WHEN:

A tournament window will open every Saturday from 6th July to 26th October between 14.00 UTC - 18.00 UTC (16.00 CET - 20.00 CET; 10.00 EST - 14.00 EST; 7.00 PST - 11.00 PST)

Finals will be held 10 November (TBC). The best eight teams will proceed to the finals and all players will need to be available for their final table.

WHERE:

Ronron (ron2.jp). Your tournament entry includes four months of Ronron membership so you can play outside of the tournament windows in the standard lobbies. If you make it to the finals, your ronron membership will be extended to cover the finals.

WHAT:

  • Four players per team. Only those resident outside of Japan are eligible to apply for participation through World Riichi.

  • Individual scores will be the best run of 20 hanchan over the entire four months. You can only improve your score so playing more will not detriment your points!

  • All individual scores will be totalled for the team and the team scores ranked highest to lowest. The top four teams will move ahead to the Finals.

  • Each player must commit to playing at least 20 games. Games will not be scheduled and players will be able to play in the event at times that suit their schedule.

  • Players can play as many games as they like within the tournament windows.

  • Final games will be broadcast and commentated on JPML’s channel.

  • The Best Eight teams will proceed to the finals. All teammates will play one hanchan in each of the semi finals and finals.

RULES:

WRC rules as implemented by Ron2. Rule differences will be shared upon registration.

COSTS:

€100 EUR/$110 USD per team mate for the full event period. All teams must have four players who have paid for the four months in full to be considered eligible for the event.

If a player already pays for ron2 premium, they may request a €20 EUR/$25 USD discount from the event price.

PRIZES:

Prizes include those for both teams and individuals. There are also exclusive prizes for players who have registered through World Riichi. Prizes can be viewed here.
